We’ve filmed a lot of birthday message videos over the last year, and chances are you’re running out of creative birthday wishes to give. I shared some of my favorite prompts for what to say in your birthday message video before on the blog but today, I’m sharing 8 more fun + thoughtful ideas.
Fun Birthday Video Ideas
- Acrostic Poem. Make a poem that spells out the birthday person’s name.
- Things we love about you. Try to list as many things as the age they’re turning for a challenge!
- Survival kit. Let your loved one know what they’ll need to survive their new decade.
- Song lyric swap. Customize the lyrics to your friend or family member’s favorite song.
- Haiku Poem. Use the pattern of 5 syllables, 7 syllables, and 5 syllables to write a short poem.
- Over the years. Share a favorite memory from each decade they’ve been alive.
- Future Plans. Send your loved one well wishes for the year to come + let them know what you’re looking forward to.
- Movie star casting. If you had to cast a famous movie star to play your loved one in a movie, who would you choose?
All of the above ideas will work whether you’re sending a birthday wishes video directly to your loved one on your own, or if you’re collaborating with a group. If you’re collecting submissions from other friends + family, you have two options for staying organized. For method one, assign each person a separate characteristic, decade or prompt. For method two, create a Google Doc and have each person fill out which characteristic, decade or prompt they chose themselves. This will help you ensure that you have a diversity of responses!
