I didn’t plan on taking a Bryce Canyon National Park road trip. Travel plans had to change a lot in 2020, which led my quarantine pod to plan a low-impact road trip to nearby National Parks, including Utah’s Bryce Canyon. I may not have had high expectations but nevertheless, Bryce Canyon delivered!

We set out from Denver with all the supplies we’d need for our camping adventure…
And arrived in Bryce Canyon to one of the most stunning sunset views I’ve ever seen. Bryce Canyon is one of the smaller US National Parks, and I didn’t really know what to expect but my first views into the canyon from Rim Trail took my breath away. We started near Sunset Point and hiked up the rim towards Inspiration Point.
The starry sky from our campsite in Sunset Campground was absolutely spectacular. The campsite had plenty of room for our 3 tents and best of all, was within walking distance to all the trails we wanted to explore.
Hiking Bryce Canyon
I definitely recommend hiking down into the canyon to explore around the hoodoos. Ice and rain have chipped away at the rocks here to create incredible stone sculptures. There are even some natural stone arches in the canyon to discover! We loved both the Queen’s Garden and Navajo Loop trails, which are around 3 miles if you do them together.
If you’re not afraid of the cold, early mornings, Inspiration Point is the perfect place to take in the sunrise. Unfortunately, we were sabotaged by cloudy weather. Even still, it was the perfect ending to our trip!
